Jonah Capital is a private, pan-African, limited liability investment company with interests in the mining, infrastructure and financial services sectors. The company is headed by Sam Jonah KBE, OSG.

Sir Sam Jonah was formerly CEO and Chairman of Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd., the first African company to list on the New York Stock Exchange. On the merger of AngloGold with Ashanti in 2004 he was appointed President of AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. He is Executive Chairman of Jonah Capital and a member of the board of directors of numerous African and international companies, several of which he is non-executive chairman.

Formed in 2003, Jonah Capital holds significant mining and exploration assets in Africa, a sector associated with the Jonah family for more than 30 years. In addition, the company holds assets in proprietary metal beneficiation technologies, which are complementary to its mining assets, and the group has invested in financial services assets that leverage off the Jonah brand and provide access to diverse opportunities on the African continent.

Sir Sam Jonah is backed by a highly experienced management team and board of directors comprising industry leaders, finance professionals and African statesmen. Together they provide a combination of entrepreneurial flair, robust analysis, disciplined investment processes, and political influence.

Jonah Capital’s powerful Africa brand, successful track record, local knowledge and extensive network provide the group with access to attractive opportunities on the African continent. This, together with the group’s experienced management team, gives it the ability to execute and extract value from these opportunities.
